Helen Liu discusses Web3 hiring, career pivots, token trade-offs and industry cycles at Moledao CEO Forum

Moledao founder Helen Liu used the project’s eighth CEO Forum Chinese session to walk through a wide range of questions facing Web3 professionals, from how to enter the sector and move across functions to how token issuance changes a team’s incentives and why industry downturns do not erase the value of accumulated skills. Hosted online on Sept. 5, 2026, the discussion also revisited the origins of CEO Forum and Moledao itself, both of which were built around connecting blockchain talent with operators, founders and employers. Liu said Moledao grew out of an early hiring problem at Bybit, where blockchain talent was hard to find while the industry remained fragmented. Over the past five years, the community has experimented with courses, task and reward platforms, job fairs, internship programs and career services. According to the session, two Web3 internship programs received more than 1,600 applications, brought more than 1,000 participants into the community, and helped build a Telegram group of about 2,400 members alongside roughly 50,000 registered platform users. She argued that career mobility in Web3 depends less on appearing “crypto-native” and more on proving that you can own outcomes, learn quickly and translate existing expertise into new business settings. On token issuance, Liu said tokens can expand funding, liquidity and participation, but also add responsibility to token holders and create pressure around price. On the broader market, she described the current slowdown as part of a cycle, while pointing to payments, stablecoins, bank settlement and value exchange between AI agents as areas where crypto still has room to develop.
